Details
From time to time, Firefox allows video content to continue playing while audio is no longer being played. I've noticed this with Youtube videos. The last time it happened to me with https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XmIxmgV73kQ. This video does have audio content for the entire duration of the video content.
Perhaps, this flaw has been produced in an attempt to fix bug 1006798.
This has started recently, according to my observations.
Note: my internet connection has been flaky, and FF may not be able to gracefully recover from disconnections. This is just a guess.
