I can't remember to have seen this ever - enhancement request for all OS?
https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=512956
Thunderbird, for reference.

We also have Bug 512956 - No Display of the current Zoom Level of a Message-Window in the Statusbar of that window.
Might save work to fix all together?
That bug hasn't seen any action for the last two years, thus I'm not sure if we want to wait for a fix in Thunderbird, but it certainly has some discussion points to start from already. Once something is implemented either here or there, the respective other application can use those as a template.
Note that the Zoom Manager itself is Toolkit code, but much of the UI is forked per application.
Adding to showing zoom % in the status bar it would also be nice to be able to select a zoom % like in IE.
One issue per bug, please. And, you can pick an arbitrary zoom level in View > Zoom > Other already.

We can probably adapt the code that does View -> Zoom (xx%)

Firefox extensions:
https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/zoom-page/
https://addons.mozilla.org/en-us/firefox/addon/default-fullzoom-level/
Default FullZoom Level is MPL licensed so easier to adapt to SeaMonkey

I did a quick Test with "Zoom Page 13.7 [Converted] and SeaMonkey DE 2.39a1 Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.1; WOW64; rv:42.0 from official download area) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/42.0 Build 20150728011950 (Classic Theme) on German WIN7 64bit:
+ Works fine
- looks scrambled in toolbars with smaller hight
- I did not find out how to get it into the Status bar.

I did a quick Test with "Default Full Zoom Level [converted] 7.5.1" and SeaMonkey DE 2.39a1 Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.1; WOW64; rv:42.0 from official download area) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/42.0 Build 20150728011950 (Classic Theme) on German WIN7 64bit:
- Seems not to work at all (in Navigation toolbar), or I do not understand
what extension should do
- I did not find out how to get it into the Status bar.

I don't know how SeaMonkey works, but bug 565718 is now fixed on Firefox Nightly. Is SeaMonkey automatically fixed?

No, this happened all in browser/ and is thus specific to Firefox. However, it could serve as a template for a solution in SeaMonkey (though the UI implementations are increasingly different).

Poof your wish has been granted in Bug 670476.
Not in Mail yet but browser works as described here. Bug 1655362 added a default zoom too.
