I got this report originlly from user at http://forums.ort.org.il/mac with
Hebrew Mac OS 8.6, and reproduced it myself with Arabic 8.6 with carbonlib 1.5:
When attempting to change the Hebrew/Arabic font prefrences, I get a crash.

Heppens both with the 0.9.8 milestone and with the nightly builds

Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1. on mac os 8.6 arabic or Hebrew, open mozilla
2. go to prefrences --> fonts --> Hebrew/arabic 
3. click on the font name drop down list in order to change it

Actual Results:  crash

Expected Results:  should work

works fine on OS 9.x
tested with carbonlib 1.2.4, 1.4 and 1.5 and got the crash. the reports in the
forum also mention getting the crash with carbonlib 1.0.4

correction: one of the carbon lib files is 1.2.5 and not 1.2.4 like i wrote

From the realase notes of moz 1.1, it looks like support for 8.6 has been
dropped. What should we do about this bug? if mozilla doesn't work on 8.6, users
with that system are left with no browser that supports hebrew properly...

Adding crash, qawanted. Somebody needs to get the TB.

Shoshannah, what Release Notes say 8.6 is dropped? Those for 1.1b
([http://www.mozilla.org/releases/mozilla1.1b/#require]) still mention 8.5.

Anyone have more recent TalkBack IDs for this one? The two reported thus far are
old and purged by now. I wonder if this might not be a dup of bug 150893.

This bug is targeted at a Mac classic platform/OS, which is no longer supported
by mozilla.org. Please re-target it to another platform/OS if this bug applies
there as well or resolve this bug.

I will resolve this bug as WONTFIX in four weeks if no action has been taken.
