From Bugzilla Helper: User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.0; en-US; rv:1.0.0) Gecko/20020530 BuildID: 2002053012 Occasionally (with probability increasing with the time the browser application is left idle), opening a new mozilla window will result in a browser window into which no text can be input from the keyboard. The URL bar, the google search text dialog, and the slashdot search bar are all examples. During this behaviour, text can be pasted into the text box, but since keyboard input is ignored, hitting enter to submit the result does nothing. FIX: Minimizing and restoring the window corrects the behaviour. Reproducible: Sometimes Steps to Reproduce: 1. launch mozilla application (with quicklaunch enabled) 2. close all mozilla windows (leaving QL running) 3. Let browser sit idle for 15 minutes 4. Open a new window by clicking on either a desktop or win32 startbar icon. It is probable that you will now have a badly behaving window. Actual Results: Window spawned was unresponsive to keyboard text imput. Expected Results: Mozilla should have spawned a properly functioning window.
The same thing occasionally happens when opening new tabs, and it is not platform-specific [Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; U; PPC Mac OS X; en-US; rv:1.0.0)]
You should uninstall older builds before installing new, and make sure no old installation files are left over. (Depending on how many older builds you've had installed, deleting components and chrome in the installation dir is probably also a good idea.)
