I uninstalled firefox and deleted C:/program files/mozilla/firefox/ - Now that
I've installed 0.10 from scratch I note that the icons in /chrome/icons/default/
still aren't included in the installer. (there's no /icons/ folder at all, let
alone /default/)

I do not have the /icons folder either. I use WinXP. A problem which may be
related to this lack of folder is that with FF set as default application to
open HTM or HTML files, the icon in WinExplorer showed the default application
icon, not the FF icon. 

I described this icon issue in bug 268512, found similar issues from other
users, and finally worked around it to get the FF icon on HTM/HTML files when in
Windows Explorer. Check bug 268512 for this work around.
