Details

User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.9.0.1) Gecko/2008070208 Firefox/3.0.1 Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.9.1b1pre) Gecko/20080905031746 Shredder/3.0b1pre When any document not already containing HTML is opened with 'Edit as new' no HTML options are available. Examples include the loss of the 'Insert' and 'Format' menu options, and the lack of the HTML toolbar. If a draft is saved and closed prior to HTML formatting, it is impossible to later format it unless a new composition window is opened (with Write) and the text is copied and pasted to the new window. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Write a test message using no HTML. 2. Save it and close the composition window. 3. Re-open it with 'Edit as new' or by double click. Actual Results: Neither 'Insert' nor 'Format' appear in the composition window menu, and no HTML toolbar is available. Expected Results: The composition window opened with 'Edit as new' ought to behave exactly as the composition window opened by selecting 'Write'. The installation is the unchanged default installation using a newly created Profile. No templates or other 'Option' changes have been made. The behavior does not occur with Thunderbird V2.0.0.16 (20080708) on the same hardware.
