Subject: Re: [Bug 488526] Mozilla Firefox (Not Responding) Crashes and / or hangs
May I just reiterate....this Mozilla Firefox crashes in the middle of writing to you. I do not have time to spend on such frustrating software. Further, I believed that Mozilla was concerned with communication...if I am unable to communicate due to 'Mozilla Firefox (Not Responding)', then what's the point of it all? Are you in the communications industry, or not? I don't make my wages from correcting your programming; either you know how to fix it, or you don't...in which case I'll use somebody else and your reputation goes out the window. (It takes a long time to gain a good rep...you can lose it in seconds)
Yours Aye,
Stewart
*attach* to your hung firefox, follow the instructions in this url
https://developer.mozilla.org/en/docs/How_to_get_a_stacktrace_with_WinDbg
and then issue the following additional command:
!analyze -v -hang
fwiw, mozilla isn't in the communication industry. most of us aren't paid at all, and you aren't paying us. i don't work for mozilla. i do oddly enough work in the communication industry, and if you pay my employer for our product, then you're free to call our support number and talk to them.
otoh, if you actually want to improve the product you're using, you'll have to follow our instructions.

PM with stewart leads me to believe the problem is outside of FF (he has to reboot after FF problems, etc). But he also states "I disabled firewall - re-installed Firefox and its updates - updated drivers and..."
There's not enough information here to diagnose and he won't be able to update bug for at least some significant period of weeks. So closing incomplete pending more feedback if he chooses to update the bug with trace, crashid** or other info.

Firefox is continuing to hang up and not respond. if it is not a FF problem where is the problem? I personally am only having the FF not responding problem only on the Vista Home Premium.....could that be the problem. This "FF not Responding" is happening everyday and every time i get on the FF browser. SOMEONE PLEASE FIGURE THIS OUT!

Jeff, if you were to provide some helpful information we may be able to diagnose your issue. If you create a new profile, does this still happen? http://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/Managing+profiles?s=profile
Also, what websites are you viewing when it hangs, and do you have the latest flash, java, etc. Finally, what is your firefox version info. you should be running firefox 3.5.4 or later.
You need to log in
