When testing Microsoft's "IE Test Drive: PirateMarrrk" benchmark [1], I noticed that the speakers on my MacBook Pro crackled loudly every time I loaded or unloaded the PirateMarrrk page. I can reproduce the crackling on my "Early 2011" model MBP, even when audio is muted. I can't reproduce the crackling on my newer Retina MBP. So maybe this is a hardware problem..? http://ie.microsoft.com/testdrive/performance/pirates/ I bisected Nightly builds and I believe this is a regression in Nightly 27 build 2013-10-18. Here is the pushlog from build 10-17 to 10-18: https://hg.mozilla.org/mozilla-central/pushloghtml?fromchange=423b9c30c73d&tochange=4e7d1e2c93a6
Paul: could these crackling sounds be a regression from AudioDestinationNode bug 927322 or MediaStreamGraph bug 918861 in the regression pushlog? btw, I am running OS X 10.9.

This might be it, can you try again when the patch for bug 930189 lands?

This bug seems to be fixed. I can't repro in Nightly 27 build 2013-10-28.
