Well, so far it only happens when I am visiting a local messageboard: www.nevertellmetheodds.org
and THEN only when I receive a PERSONAL MESSAGE and try to open a window to view the message.
This occurs only since dwnloading the Firefox 3.5 tryout
and so far ONLY with this one webpage. I will try to do it today and see if there is any crash ID.

Why did you put bug 488526 in the title?

I cut and pasted that thinking it was the bug title, I guess. You must note I am old(over 60)and NOT tech savvy.
ok.
We still need the stacktrace, could you please provide us with the crash id?
Please read, https://developer.mozilla.org/en/How_to_get_a_stacktrace_for_a_bug_report

Sorry, I went to that link for STACKTRACE, I don't make sense of it, guess I will just put up with the problem. Never get old and behind the technology!!!!
Hopefully when this is outta beta the problem will be gone!
No problem.
To access your submitted reports, type "about:crashes" (without quotes) in the Firefox URL bar and press enter. Firefox should open a list of all your submitted crash report IDs. Copy the IDs of the appropriate crashes to your Bugzilla bug report. Please check the listed times to avoid copying the ID of an unrelated crash report.
The window will look like this, https://developer.mozilla.org/@api/deki/files/2855/=crashlist.jpg?size=webview
Copy and paste the links that look like a bunch of numbers and letters here.

I did as you suggested I got a dialogue saying, "This URL is not valid and cannot be loaded." :-/

Hmm, did you type the "about:crashes" without quotes? Also, make sure you only type that in the location bar. No http:///, no www and no .com

After the weekend I will try the SAFE MODE thingy that was mentioned. If it has any bearing I have IE8 which I only use for those various downloads that are IE exclusive.
When browsing and reading, I use either Firefox or Google Chrome. Firefox displays .gif and the motion version of .gif on certain pages that Chrome does not.
I almost never browse with IE.

How do I make an account on that site? The main page, does not contain much javascript.
And try:
about:crashes
And check spelling very carefully. Should work. With the ID, we can check whether it is already resolved. There are a few important bugs solved in 3.5.1.

I need an invite for the site.
Can you send me one? E-mail: L.B.Kruijswijk@inter.nl.net
Then I will take a look if I can reproduce it. If it is a consistent crash, then it is valuable.

I contacted the site owner, and got an account. When you have a large number of unread messages, then you get many checkboxes. In such case, it can hang due to bug 477564.
Everything works fine with few messages.

Lucas, does this work now that bug 477564 has been fixed in the nightly builds?

I don't have the account anymore. I suggest to close this bug with WFM.
Because there is not enough information to verify. The site owner does not know of any problems. It could be bug 477564, but the original submitter of this bug, does not respond for further quesions.

Well it sounds very, very similar to bug 477564 so I'm going to mark it as a dupe.

It was still speculation. The private mail had 1 checkbox for each email. And to collect 1000 emails over time is not uncommon (but not confirmed by submitter). But, I don't know, whether the application puts that on one screen, or multiple screens.
But spamming bug 477564 is always a good thing :-)
